While touring The Zoo today, find the answers to these questions:

1.  Write down the names of the first four mammals you see.

2.  Carnivores are animals that eat only meat.  Find three different carnivores and list them here:

**Extra Credit** If you were lucky enough to see these animals get fed, what were some of the things they ate?

3.   Herbivores eat only plants.  Find an herbivore and list some of the things you see in its habitat.

4.    Gorillas live in the rainforest. Go to the rainforest habitat and describe how it feels. Is it hot or cold. How does it smell? Do you hear any sounds?

5.    Monkeys, gorillas, and other primates have opposable thumbs just like humans.  Trace your hand on the back of this page.  Then go to the primate house and take a close look at a monkey’s hand and draw it next to your hand.

6.    Some species, such as Pandas, have almost completely disappeared from the Earth.  They are called endangered species.  Find one example of an endangered species.  How many of this endangered species live in the Zoo today?

7.    Penguins and some other birds have webbed feet.  Find a bird with webbed feet and draw their feet on the back of this page.

**Extra Credit**  Why do some birds need webbed feet?

 8.  Nocturnal animals sleep during the day and are active at night.  Diurnal animals do the opposite.  Find one example of both, write down the exact time of day, and describe what they are doing.

 9. Omnivores such as bears, ostriches, and turtles eat meat and plants.  Visit two omnivores and draw a map or write directions from one omnivore to the other.

  10. Go to the Reptile House and find an animal you have never seen or heard of and draw it below.
